The dates
Each Part carries a date range. Those dates identify the period in which a transformation becomes historically dominant in the narrative, not the first appearance or final conclusion of its underlying technologies. Every frontier begins before its Part and continues after it.
Not a forecast
The book does not claim to predict what will happen. It maps what becomes possible, who it advantages, and which choices close, so that the choices still open are legible while they are still open.
